Companies Assist Foy Insurance Group in Giving Back to Local Communities During COVID-19 Crisis
EXETER, NH (May 26, 2020) – Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance announce a $10,000 donation to New Hampshire Food Bank – nominated by Michael Foy of Foy Insurance Group – as part of an Emergency Community Support Grant to help independent agents give back to their local community during the COVID-19 crisis. The donation will go directly to New Hampshire Food Bank, a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding hungry people by soliciting and effectively distributing grocery products and perishable foods, and offering innovative programs through a statewide network of approved agencies in New Hampshire.
“My team and I have recognized the hard work and dedication performed by New Hampshire Food Bank during this pandemic and we are incredibly thankful for Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance for stepping up to the plate and providing extra funds to help the community when we need it most,” said Michael Foy of Foy Insurance Group. “New Hampshire Food Bank has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and the $10,000 donation will help them continue to make a difference to the community they serve.”
The $10,000 grant will go towards purchasing food that will be collected, sorted and re-distributed to the community. Traditionally, a food bank does not distribute food directly to those in need. Instead, food banks serve an extensive network of organizations in their respective communities. These organizations serve one part of the community and know the needs of the people there.
“The goal of the Emergency Community Support Grants is to help our independent agents make an immediate impact during this critical time in the local communities where we live and work,” said Alexis Holzer, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Independent Agent Giving Program Manager.
The NH community can get involved and give back to New Hampshire Food Bank by donating online, holding virtual and hosted food drives, volunteering or joining the hunger club.
